Hey there, Netball Enthusiasts!

I'm thrilled to connect with fellow lovers of the game. 

My name is Josie Janz-Dawson and I am "Netty Nerd", I'm on a mission to collaborate with passionate netball players and coaches to take our beloved sport to new heights. As a proud Torres Strait Islander, netball has been more than just a game for me—it's been a journey of self-discovery, growth, and community building.

From the moment I first stepped onto the court, I was captivated by the rhythm and intensity of netball. 

Growing up in Derby in the Kimberley, I quickly found solace and joy in the sport. It became a cornerstone of my identity, shaping not only my athletic prowess but also instilling in me values of teamwork, resilience, and determination.

Throughout my journey, I've had the privilege of playing at elite levels, firstly for West Coast Fever and also over in the UK Superleague for Severn Stars and Team Bath. Playing elite Netball helped me to push my boundaries, and hone my skills alongside some of the most talented individuals in the game. These experiences have not only fueled my passion for netball but have also given me a profound appreciation for the transformative power of teamwork and collaboration.

I am an Advanced accredited netball coach and I am currently the Open women's coach for the Southside Demons in the Gold Industry Group WA Netball League.
